NURSING CARE

As a Skilled Nursing Facility we provide 24-hour nursing care. Routine doctor and dental visits take place here on site and we arrange appointments and transportation for residents to see any doctors or dentists off-site. We offer occupational, physical, and speech therapy as well as the expertise of a dietician.

We have experienced nursing staff caring for residents with diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, post-surgical needs, stroke rehabilitation, respiratory disease, or terminal illness. Feel free to call one of our administrators at 415.435.4554 and tell us what your family member needs. We’ll let you know if our nursing care is a good match.

Our nursing care staff has been here for many years as we are committed to making Marin Convalescent Hospital a friendly environment for staff, residents and family. Le Shun Tyson Slaughter, is our dedicated Director of Nursing.

Family Communications: Each quarter you will receive an invitation to meet with the Director of Nursing and/or other staff members who will review with you the resident’s medical care, activities, diet, therapy participation, and social well-being. Families, caregivers and any person or people responsible for a resident’s care, are always welcome to stop by and/or call to speak to the Director of Nursing.

Meals: Our main dining room is a light filled atrium with a koi pond in the center. All residents are offered breakfast in bed regardless of their diet. Dietary requirements are monitored by a registered Dietician that takes into account each resident’s needs.

Specialized Diets: We can accommodate cardiac, low salt, diabetic, renal and any other specialized diet. Also, if needed, we prepare meals that are regular, mechanical soft, chopped or pureed for safety.
